Technology-neutral decisions: the right metering technology for every application
Water supply needs solutions that work today and will still be reliably available tomorrow. That is why we combine proven metering technology with modern manufacturing and invest purposefully in the future of our water meters.
At Pipersberg, multi-jet water meters will remain a firm part of our product portfolio beyond 2028. At the same time, we are continuously developing both our range and our production so that we can provide the right metering technology for a wide variety of requirements.
The future of water metering needs more than one technology
Not every metering task is the same. Different installation situations, requirements and commercial conditions call for different solutions. That is why we take a technology-neutral approach and advise our customers impartially, regardless of whether mechanical or electronic metering technology is the better choice.
Multi-jet or ultrasonic meters? The application decides
Ultrasonic water meters offer appealing advantages, particularly for digital data capture and wherever modern communication and meter-reading concepts are required. They are therefore being used in an ever-growing number of applications.
At the same time, mechanical multi-jet water meters continue to have their place. Their robustness, cost-effectiveness and long-proven reliability make them an attractive solution for numerous applications – especially where reliable, economical standard metering is called for.
In our view, then, this is not a matter of a fundamental “either/or”, but rather of the question: which technology best suits the metering task in hand?

The right solution always depends on the individual requirements of the application.
Investing in modern production and long-term supply capability
For us, being technology-neutral also means taking responsibility for the technologies our customers need today and in the future. That is why we have invested specifically in our manufacturing and comprehensively modernised our production of multi-jet water meters.
Our new production line creates additional capacity and secures our long-term ability to supply. Larger volumes, too, can be handled flexibly and reliably.
This means:
- additional production capacity
- flexible manufacturing, even for larger volumes
- high delivery reliability
- long-term security of supply
- a dependable outlook for the years ahead
As we develop our production further, capacity and efficiency are not the only focus. Quality, sustainability and the requirements of drinking water supply matter to us just as much.
Our multi-jet water meters will continue to be manufactured in compliance with the German Drinking Water Ordinance (TrinkwV) and to our own high quality standards. At the same time, we are continuously optimising our production processes to ensure modern, future-proof manufacturing.
As a long-standing partner to the utility sector, we do not see it as our task to present any one technology as inherently superior. Our aim is to work with our customers to find the solution that is technically and economically right for the application in question.
