Pipersberg sets new standards in precision and efficiency for Electricity Measurement
Pipersberg is expanding its quality promise: With the opening of a state-of-the-art testing center for electricity meters (ENW50), the company is setting new benchmarks in precision, efficiency, and customer value.
This testing center is the first of its kind at Pipersberg dedicated to electricity, complementing the existing testing facilities for water (WNW50) and gas (GNW50). Following official recognition by the North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) State Office for Weights and Measures, the center is now a state-recognized facility authorized to perform sovereign tasks in the field of electricity metrology.
State-of-the-Art Technology for Maximum Quality
The new testing center is equipped with the latest testing and measurement technology. Automated testing processes not only ensure the highest levels of precision but also significantly reduce testing and approval lead times. Consequently, customers benefit from faster availability, improved predictability, and a consistently high standard of quality.
In addition to testing meters manufactured by Pipersberg, the facility offers specialized services for business customers. These include metrological testing and functional checks of all interfaces—essential, for example, for intelligent metering systems (smart meters). This ensures that devices not only comply with market standards but also function reliably during actual operation.
Expert Leadership at the Helm
The testing center is headed by Stefan Rottländer, who was officially appointed by the NRW State Office for Weights and Measures. With his extensive experience in metrology, he guarantees that the setup, commissioning, and ongoing operation of the center meet the highest professional standards.
Stefan Rottländer describes the opening as a “decisive step for Pipersberg that rounds off our overall quality promise and paves the way for reliable, precise measurements—a true milestone for us and our customers.” The official appointment was also attended by Jürgen Bauer and Gerado Lamberti, the heads of the gas and water testing centers, as well as Operations Manager Yusa Özkilic, who supported the launch of the electricity testing center with their combined expertise.
Official Recognition and Sovereign Duties
With the official recognition decree from the Weights and Measures authority, the center is authorized to perform sovereign tasks. This includes the calibration and verification of the following device types and auxiliary equipment:
- Electricity meters for alternating or three-phase current.
- Electronic auxiliary equipment for electricity meters.
The testing center stands for premium quality assurance “in-house” and underscores Pipersberg’s commitment to offering not just products, but reliable, cutting-edge services.
Continuous Evolution
Pipersberg remains dedicated to the ongoing development of technical expertise and the capabilities of the testing center. The objective is to provide customers with the best possible support through reliable testing, precise measurements, and comprehensive quality assurance.
The new electricity testing center serves as further evidence that Pipersberg is consistently taking quality, speed, and customer benefit to the next level.
